Main Visual for Restaurant

"MALA" - a word that embodies the essence of circulation.
Once a post town along the old Saba Kaidō route, Yase served as a vital crossroads where food, firewood, and charcoal were carried to the ancient capital. From this heritage, wisdom was born - to honor the natural power of every ingredient.
We carry that wisdom into the present, offering a dining experience that allows the blessings of this land to flow through body and soul, in a gentle cycle of nourishment and renewal.

At Restaurant "MALA", we carefully select the finest ingredients sourced along the historic
Saba Kaidō - the ancient route that once connected the capital with Wakasa.
From the bountiful seas of Wakasa Bay and the rich flavors of ōmi beef to the vibrant vegetables of ōhara, each ingredient carries the essence of this land's natural abundance.
Together, they create a dining experience that celebrates the profound harmony between tradition,
terroir, and taste.
