Facilities
At the heart of the property lies a moss garden that reflects the beauty of the four seasons. Surrounding it, we have created a carefully curated space including the garden-view lounge Kikyorai, the restaurant where guests can savor the flickering warmth of a wood-fired hearth, fully reserved private saunas with groundwater baths, and spaces dotted with works by contemporary artists.
Within this sanctuary that delights all five senses, we invite you to unwind and enjoy moments of pure serenity.
Throughout the property, we display works by contemporary artists,
curated around the theme of "Ethnic Modern".
The selection has been carefully made by Harumi Fukuda,
moksa's Branding Director, in collaboration with Tonoto, a gallery based in Kyoto.
Scattered throughout the property are charming "moksa Jin" clay figures,
inspired by indigenous spirits and guardian deities.
Alongside the works of contemporary artists,
these delightful sculptures add a playful and
engaging touch to your stay.

Traditional garden
Moss garden
At moksa, a timeless moss garden flows with water drawn from the pristine Takano River. Koi swims gracefully, wild fish and occasional birds wander, and the breeze stirs weeping cherry trees, autumn leaves, and crepe myrtles.
Preserved for generations, the garden transforms with the seasons, offering a serene retreat where one can pause, reflect, and reconnect with nature's quiet beauty.
